On October 7 and 8, the city of A Coruña will become the epicenter of circular economy and sustainability with the celebration of the 7th National Congress on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
Organized by OfiRAEE, with the support of the Xunta de Galicia, the event will bring together more than 300 experts, companies, institutions and European representatives to discuss the challenges and opportunities in WEEE management, the recovery of critical raw materials, and innovation in sustainability.
The congress will feature the participation of the main Collective Systems of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP): AMBILAMP, ECOTIC, Fundación ECOLUM, Fundación ECOLEC, European Recycling Platform (ERP), Fundación Eco-RAEE’s, and Recyclia/Ecopilas.
“This Congress is not just a sectoral meeting, but a collective commitment to the circular economy, innovation, and the protection of the environment,” said Andreu Vilà, General Director of ECOTIC and President of OfiRAEE.
Over two days, the program will include conferences, roundtables, and discussion spaces on key issues such as the new European regulations, the Digital Product Passport, the recovery of critical raw materials, and the new WEEE collection targets.
The choice of A Coruña as the venue highlights Galicia’s commitment to the ecological transition, reinforcing its role as a benchmark in sustainability and public-private collaboration.
