What are your responsibilities?

As manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, you are responsible for managing and funding the recycling of devices, from collection at various recycling points, transport and processing to proper waste management. As set out in Royal Decree 110/2015 and subsequent amendments introduced by Royal Decree 27/2021.

+ Filing quarterly reports of electrical and electronic equipment put onto the market with the Integrated Industrial Register (RII-AEE).

+ Marking electrical and electronic equipment with the legally established label.

+ Adopting measures for the selective collection and proper management of WEEE generated by your equipment placed on the market, except for equipment intended for reuse.

+ Identifying WEEE by electronic tag, so as to ensure the traceability of the waste.

+ Developing agreements to prepare equipment for reuse by logistics platforms.

Why is it important for you to comply with the law?

In addition to the serious environmental damage that can result from inadequate waste management, failure on the part of producers to comply with the provisions of Law 07/2022 on Waste and Contaminated Soil entails penalties in the form of fines or other sanctionssuch as temporary occupational disqualification or closure of their facilities..
These sanctions are accompanied by final penalties of up to 1,750,000 euros.
