ECOTIC and Andimac have signed an agreement to promote circularity in distribution.

ECOTIC and Andimac have signed a collaboration agreement to facilitate efficient management for distribution companies working with climate products and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The main objective of the agreement is to help companies in the sector expand their service portfolio in a context of increasing regulatory requirements regarding sustainability.

Through this agreement, both entities will work together to promote selective collection and proper treatment of WEEE, fostering the adoption of good environmental practices in the distribution sector by being part of the technical group of the Sustainability and Circularity seal for distribution.

Circularity in distribution

The agreement is part of the challenges the sector will face starting in 2025 regarding sustainability and the circular economy. In this regard, ECOTIC and Andimac will collaborate in the implementation of processes that facilitate the proper management of waste, fostering a cultural, business, and process shift focused on the reuse and recycling of materials in the construction sector.

To achieve this, we will promote the Sustainability and Circular Economy Commitment Seal within the sector, with the aim of recognizing those companies that adopt responsible measures in WEEE management and contribute to the development of a more sustainable value chain.

Furthermore, one of the key aspects of this agreement is the guarantee of legal security for companies and their professional clients. Now, distribution companies will have the necessary support to comply with current regulations, ensuring the fulfillment of their obligations in the management of electrical and electronic waste.

Además, el convenio prevé la implementación de puntos de recogida asociados a la red de distribución, incentivando a las empresas y a los instaladores a participar activamente en el reciclaje de estos productos y a comunicar buenas prácticas en la gestión de residuos.

ECOTIC and Andimac: A Step “Further Towards Circularity in Construction”

Sebastián Molinero, Secretary General of Andimac, highlighted that “this agreement represents a fundamental step towards consolidating a distribution model aligned with regulatory requirements and the growing demand for sustainability in the sector. Our goal is to help companies adapt to an increasingly regulated environment by providing tools and support so they can differentiate themselves in the market and improve their reputation among employees and customers.”

For his part, Andreu Vilà, Director General of ECOTIC, stated: “We celebrate this agreement with Andimac as a strategic alliance to move towards a more sustainable distribution model. We are convinced that collaboration with the distribution sector will be key to ensuring proper WEEE management and driving circularity in the fields of climate control and construction.”
