“Otro Final es Posible” launches a new edition in Castile and León after collecting more than 15 tonnes of electronic waste

The educational campaign promoted by the ECOTIC Foundation and the Regional Government of Castile and León collected 15,232 kg of WEEE during the 2025-2026 academic year and has launched its eighth edition to continue promoting environmental education.

CPrFP Laldea, located in La Aldea del Rey Niño (Ávila), hosted the award ceremony for the 2025-2026 edition of the “Otro Final es Posible” educational campaign, an initiative promoted by the ECOTIC Foundation in collaboration with the Regional Government of Castile and León.

The campaign achieved a total collection of 15,232 kg of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), helping to raise students’ awareness of the importance of properly managing and recycling electronic waste.

Recognising the participating schools

The ceremony recognised the commitment of the educational centres that stood out in the WEEE collection competition.

CEIP CRA Abadengo, located in Hinojosa de Duero (Salamanca), took first place, collecting 2,360 kg of WEEE, with an average of 107.27 kg per student.

CPrFP Laldea, in La Aldea del Rey Niño (Ávila), came second, collecting 879 kg, with an average of 39.95 kg per student, followed by CEIP CRA Valle Amblés, in Muñogalindo (Ávila), with 885 kg and an average of 26.03 kg per student.

These results highlight the educational community’s involvement in the separate collection of electronic waste and its contribution to the development of a circular economy.

A new edition to continue promoting environmental education

The event also marked the launch of the eighth edition of “Otro Final es Posible” for the 2026-2027 academic year, which will continue raising environmental awareness in schools across Castile and León.

The initiative aims to educate students about the importance of preventing waste generation, encouraging reuse and ensuring the proper recycling of electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its useful life.

Through this programme, the ECOTIC Foundation reaffirms its commitment to environmental education and the promotion of responsible habits among younger generations, demonstrating that electronic waste can have a different ending and be transformed into new resources.
