As part of our 20th anniversary, we have launched the EcoTruck, a new environmental awareness initiative that will travel across different cities and events throughout Spain with a clear message: “The journey of recycling begins at home.”
The EcoTruck is a travelling, interactive installation designed to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of recycling correctly and giving waste a second life, promoting the values of reuse and the circular economy. Through a practical and visual experience, participants can discover how a simple container can be transformed into a new product through the recycling process.
First stop: CSIO Barcelona
The initiative premiered at CSIO Barcelona, held at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, one of the most prestigious international equestrian events. Visitors of all ages were able to pedal to activate a conveyor belt representing the journey of a package until it became a watering can — showing in a simple and visual way how recycling works.
With this first action, we kick off a roadshow that will continue across the country over the coming months, aiming to bring the message of sustainability and recycling closer to all audiences.
This 20th anniversary is an opportunity to look back and recognise the work accomplished, but above all, to look forward and inspire change. The EcoTruck embodies this spirit: every small gesture counts, and recycling starts at home.
This initiative is part of a broader set of activities that ECOTIC is promoting this year to celebrate two decades of commitment to environmental protection, the responsible management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), and the promotion of a more sustainable consumption model.
