ECOTIC brings WEEE recycling to the Tour de France with the ECOTRUCK at the Barcelona Fan Zone

ECOTIC took part in the Tour de France stages in Catalonia, helping raise awareness among thousands of people about the importance of properly recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

The Tour de France’s visit to Catalonia was much more than a major sporting event. Throughout the three Catalan stages, Fundación ECOTIC took advantage of this international event to raise public awareness about the importance of recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and to promote more sustainable habits.

From Thursday to Sunday, in collaboration with Ecosystem, a sponsor of the Tour de France, we were present at the Fan Zone on Passeig Lluís Companys in Barcelona with the ECOTRUCK, a travelling educational space designed to raise awareness of the proper management of WEEE in an engaging, participatory and educational way.

Throughout the event, hundreds of visitors stopped by the ECOTRUCK to learn first-hand about the importance of correctly disposing of electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its life cycle and to discover how a simple everyday action such as recycling helps recover valuable raw materials, reduce environmental impact and support the transition towards a circular economy.

Participating in an event as significant as the Tour de France enabled ECOTIC to bring this message to a broad audience, taking advantage of a high-profile setting to continue promoting responsible environmental habits among citizens.

Through initiatives like this, ECOTIC continues to bring recycling closer to people by promoting awareness actions that help make the circular economy a reality.

Because, just like in the Tour, every action counts. Our finish line is recycling.
